Bees and bee products have been with me since I was a child. My grandfather was a beekeeper and my mother gave me a teaspoon of pollen and propolis every morning to fortify me. So even as a small child, I was taught about bees and the incredible work they do for us and our world.

Bee welfare/bee protection is a topic close to my heart:
The protection and preservation of bees is a very important issue for me. We want to support bee welfare in many ways. Our organic certification prevents the exploitation or killing of bees when harvesting our bee products. However, we want to do even more and be part of a comprehensive and long-term solution. It's not just bees that are important to us, we want to create a sustainable habitat for all living creatures, promote species diversity and safeguard biodiversity.
It is very important to us to sensitize as many people as possible to this important topic, to educate them about bee-protecting practices and to be a platform and mouthpiece for bee and species protection.

Artenglück protects biodiversity in the DACH region. With targeted nature conservation measures such as perennial flowering meadows, Artenglück creates food sources and habitats for bees, butterflies and the like. In cooperation with committed farmers, Artenglück creates colorful flowering meadows that not only look beautiful, but also make an important contribution to nature conservation. Flowering meadows provide an ideal habitat and food source for insects - especially bees and other pollinators. Bees are not only important for bedrop products: 75% of our food is dependent on pollination. Our own food security therefore depends directly on the health of the nature around us. Only Regio seeds are used for the flowering fields, which consist of seeds from over 40 different plant species. These come directly from the region of the respective flowering meadow, which means they are perfectly adapted to the local soil and climate conditions. The result? Our plants grow better, flower longer and provide insects with food for even longer. They also lay their larvae and eggs in the stems and top layers of soil so that they can reproduce again in peace. Studies such as the Krefeld study from 2017 show that 76% less flying insect biomass was found in Germany than before 1989.

We all know how hard bees work and how much we benefit from them. To support the turbulent everyday life of bees and help the little helpers, we have 3 simple tips for you:

1. Plant wild meadows and flowers - so you can create new habitats for our little helpers.

2. put out water troughs - it's best to use a flat plate or container to make it easier for the animals to refresh themselves.

3. set up or buildinsect or bee hotels to create a home or retreat for the bees.
