Use of propolis for warts
Warts (lat.:"Veruccae") are considered to be reactions of the body caused by different viruses and are regarded in medicine as an autoimmune disease. The warts differ in their different types and can appear on different parts of the body. Warts can appear as early as infancy/toddlerhood, as they can break out especially when the immune system is weak. Because the immune system of small children is not yet developed and mature, they are more susceptible to warts.
Warts in medicine
There are the following types of warts:
Vulgar warts (lat.: "Verrucae vulgares"): pinhead to pea-sized, scaly and rough, skin growths on the fingers and face
Plantar warts (lat.: "Verrucae plantares"): Heavily keratinized surface on the soles of the feet, grow deep into the skin, cause pain when walking, dark spots found on the skin
Molluscum contagiosa: (lat.:"Mollusca contagiosa"): a contagious type of wart and occurs more frequently in children with eczema
Brush warts (lat.: "Verrucae filiformes"): Shape resembles small brushes, rough and scaly
Flat warts (lat.: "Verrucae planae juveniles"): skin-colored / slightly reddish growths, a few millimeters in size, frequently on the hands and face, especially in children and adolescents
Genital warts (lat.: "Condylomata acuminata"): Warts in the genital and anal area, is mainly favored by unprotected sexual intercourse, gray-white lumps form the so-called"wart beds"
Age-related war ts (lat.: "Verrucae seborrhoicae"): no warts of concern, age-related

Warts can become infected relatively quickly, so you can easily become infected unnoticed in gyms, saunas or swimming pools. The smallest injuries, which are barely noticeable, are enough for the viruses to penetrate the body. Human papilloma viruses (HPV) are the main cause of warts. After they enter the skin through injuries and cracks, they settle in the skin cells and cause the production of more viruses. This uncontrolled cell division/proliferation forms the typical shape of warts.
Children and adolescents are more prone to developing warts, which can be attributed to their activities. However, other factors can also promote the formation of warts, especially in adults. These are as follows:

Propolis and warts study
In addition to the infections and symptoms of warts, treatment is of great importance. It is important to combat the viruses and their multiplication and, in the best case, to enable the warts to regress.
In conventional medicine, a visit to the dermatologist, who in most cases treats the warts with icing and even cutting away the area, has proved successful. However, it is often not just a case of waiting months for a doctor's appointment; warts can also be treated with alternative methods using the power of the beehive - propolis.
It is considered an old household remedy. The ingredients and minerals contained in propolis can inhibit the development of bacteria, viruses and fungi. The salicylic acid it contains is important in the treatment of warts. The propolis tincture is not only for external use, but also for internal use. By taking it daily, the weak and vulnerable immune system can be supported and strengthened.
A study shows that propolis has antimicrobial and antiviral properties and thus promotes the production of human skin cells. This property is crucial in the treatment of acne, herpes, wounds and, above all, warts, as it promotes skin regeneration. In 2009, a study by Zedan et al. demonstrated the effect of propolis against warts. In this study, 135 patients with different types of warts were treated with propolis tincture for three months. The results showed that 75% of patients experienced an improvement. Thus, propolis acts as a safe immune modulator against wart formation and warts.
Treatment of warts with propolis
There is no "one" application, we can only give a recommendation for the treatment of warts and bacteria with propolis. To make the application as easy as possible, we recommend applying bedrop 20% propolis tincture directly to the wart area before going to bed. To ensure that the propolis remains on the wart and does not smear, it should always be covered with a small plaster. Leave it on overnight and repeat until the wart gradually heals. We also recommend fighting the disease and the associated free radicals from the inside. Studies have shown that propolis can strengthen the immune system due to its high flavonoid content (for the study, click here). The antioxidants fight the free radicals of the skin disease and counteract the formation of viruses. The immune system is strengthened and can combat the formation and multiplication of human papilloma viruses (HPV) in the long term. We recommend taking bedrop propolis capsules (2 capsules ) daily in the morning with or after a meal.
