Our water-soluble propolis consists of distilled water and pure propolis. No glycerine or macrogol is used for the extraction of our propolis extract. Manuka Honey MGO 500+ is made from pure, certified Manuka Honey from New Zealand.
What is propolis?
The worker bees collect propolis and bring it into their hive. They use it to insulate the hive, cement cracks and lay the propolis as a kind of doormat at the entrance to the hive. This mat serves as a disinfectant for the returning worker bees. Thanks to its disinfecting properties, bacteria, viruses and other harmful microorganisms cannot get inside the hive. In order to keep the hive antiviral and sterile and thus keep other insects and bacteria away from it, the bees not only constrict the flight holes with the propolis, they also seal the entire hive with it. Only the bees can walk over the propolis with their sensitive legs without any problems, all other insects would get stuck in the sticky substance. The bees use the propolis not only against foreign intruders, but above all to protect themselves against diseases and bacteria within the bee colony.
Special Manuka honey
Manuka honey is extracted from the South Sea myrtle (also known as manuka) and only grows in New Zealand. The bees collect the nectar from the Manuka flowers, as with any other honey, and produce honey from it. Our honey is certified with an MGO of 500+. Each jar consists of a sustainable jar and label.
